James

James

A Poem by z.chéri
"

Warning signs.

"
James told me that
he loved to be outside
especially in forests
with trees as high as
the tallest building you
could ever think of.

James told me that
he loved his girlfriend
especially when she cries
because then he sees who
lives inside that cold dead
body of hers.

James told me that
he loved the thought of death
especially when it is himself
dying but this frightened me
because death is inevitable
but not for a seventeen year old.

James' girlfriend told me that
she found him dead and all
that was plastered on her face
was a smile because she was finally
free from the torment of the hands
of someone she once loved and knew.

James told me in
his final letter that he loves us
but not enough to remain in a
world where he is unhappy with
most things and where no one
noticed his growing sadness.

I told James' grave that
i wish i paid more attention
and that nothing brings me
more sorrow than how i
was unaware of the deadly
signs of his unpleasant and
constant thoughts of the inevitable.

This is so true . Nothing is more sorrow than how we
were unaware of the deadly signs that the person showed.
