Blue Pheonix

Blue Pheonix

A Poem by Stephen

the best spirits
are never reborn

they burn once
across a black sky
an empty heaven

an awed brillance
a child catching
inspiration
from the myth of shooting stars

the worst
are like the phoenix
rising out of
the blue earth
graying ashes

and
float for a moment
in pure air
before tailfeathers
are right back on fire.
