Since getting hurt

I now realize how uneven the ground is

 

Every step has become tentative

Well-traveled paths are now suspect

A grassy field treacherous

Even walking while holding hands requires me to adjust my gait

 

My moves are now carefully measured

As I keep my eyes focused on the earth
