Time.

Time.

A Poem by Samantha Jenkins

When the time comes you'll know,

when the time comes the world as you know it will end,

when the time comes boulders will crumble at your feet,

when the time comes the skies will blacken,

when the time comes the grass will dry up, crumple and blow away,

when the time comes you will fade from extinction.

I'm not sure if this was purposeful or a typo, but far from seeming like a poem about the shortness of life, it seems to be an emergence. The words "fade from extinction," seem an interesting picture of someone stepping from the shadows to claim the ruined world. The old has passed, a new era has begun. (Now clearly, the meaning would be something completely different if it said "fade into extinction.)

It's a great idea and a pretty epic thought. The shortness could symbolise how brief life actually is.
