Nature Speaks

Nature Speaks

A Poem by Sophia V

The wind whispers beauty into my ear,

The waves crash into the rock without fear,

Feet strung over the edge,

Eyes focused on the ledge,

Then suddenly all focus is lost in the spectacular sea of blue in front of me.

My sight wisped away by the turquoise waves..

Here I am, so high up, wind in hair and body spread out on the chilled rock,

Yet I feel like I might drown.

Like I am in fact way deep below the ocean's gleaming surface.

The one I look so far down upon.

But when I close my eyes that's where I am.

Suffocated by the frightening thoughts up in my head.

When my eyes reopen the song of the mountain plays again and the world reads "beauty" once more.

It's funny how our minds may take us places whilst not even moving an inch.
