the solemn bench

the solemn bench

A Poem by Sophia V

That solemn bench that stood between

The hollow stones

Their graves they read

Their stories posted but most decoated

The words decayed, frayed, by time itself

Memories not gone, though a little faded

Tomb stones not lost, just a little grated

Toppled down stone

Damaged by the wind

Still holds great honor

In their history.. untrimmed

Though all that's left is soil and rock

The spirits I feel walk and stalk
