Falling

Falling

A Poem by Sophie
"

you know how on iTunes if you hold ctrl+shift+t the screen turns all cool? Well I got inspired by that.

"
I don't know what happened
Or, yes, yes I do
I was drinking the poison
like they told me to

I sat there and looked around
the wooden floor
and the officer's frown
I had gotten my meal
and my last words
And suddenly all I could feel
was a thousand swords

Then nothing
and nothing more
And then
falling
as though,
I was falling from the earth
to something below
I flail, while I watch
My body being removed
from that horrid, bland room
I fall, while I'm being carried
I am separated
from me
and below me
while I fall is red

A circle of swirling reds and yellows
That engulfs me and the walls around me
are made of lava
and smoke billows
it fills my lungs
but I don't choke
I'm getting it now, I've fallen
Flames lick my limbs,
 searing pain into me
And flashbacks of my life fill the hazy walls

The murders
the robberies
the threats
all rolled into one
tears well in my eyes
if only I knew then, what i know now
that I'd feel bad for my life
that I was worthless
and that makes dying
so much worse
as the walls change from a fiery inferno
to a warm purple embrace
that is supposed to be calming
but it means I'm closer
and suddenly
I stop
I stop falling
suspended
in hell

The last line has so much impact, it's just like 'bang.' I really enjoyed how you described it all. I would never have imagined getting so much from a screen page.
