Stealing Beauty

Stealing Beauty

A Poem by StarlaFireDelta
"

For my dear lost friend

"

What tail by beast and teeth
tenacious monsters grip upon thee
What toll it takes and steals
Whose lips drip lies easy in startling detail, madness
absentminded at best
a reflection of all delusion kept
feuding inside, hidden fast
When rest is never
as lack of substantial seeking
Watch the face contort, eyes drawn
Movement flickering beyond
Incoherent, what last resort
exile to mental island
How sour the soul
Beg tall with fake smiles and evil smirk
The flesh shrinks
Its stealing your glory
Your beauty
Weakness of the most dangerous sort, a sight of selfish want
Promises to keep and protect
are null and void
as you have already abandoned yourself
with ruthless addiction
Sadness always follows
What remains, sits twisted psyche
Perched on the wall
Dark angel after the fall
Lost despite love
Beside me, despite me
My eyes watch and weep
When until it's over a long lonely time to keep
