Dreams of Longing

Dreams of Longing

A Poem by Jane Doe
"

Something I wrote after a particularly intense dream.

"

Riding on the wake of a dream

Swirling surreal emotions, raw

Tenderness, gentleness,

Deep and profound

Longing, sharp and piercing

Wishing for what is unwanted

Incomplete, defenseless,

Searching for something never lost

Yearning hunger abides

After the dream subsides

A woeful, wistful whisper

Echoing on the winter wind
