Shattered

Shattered

A Poem by speakingcolors

Do you hear

the crowds calling with one voice?

It is your name

that they sing with hope in pain.

Do you see

what the world has come to be?

It is your time

to show them all you care.

Can you feel,

their pain inside their tears?

All their life

is shattered everyday.

Listen to their song,

its silent starving chords

and sing along

with echoes in the night.

Carry me to freedom

beyond the tower wall.

Take away my fear

and never say goodbye.

Do you believe

in the power of a word?

Stand aright,

you are their final hope.

Can you hear

children playing in the streets?

It is your dream,

they cry for happiness.

Carry me to freedom

beyond the tower wall.

Take away my fear

and never say goodbye.

I love poems like this that can keep my attention and could be a meaning for so many things. And to answer the question, "Do you believe in the power of a word?" I do. And THIS is powerful.

great job.
