Truth Lies...

Truth Lies...

A Poem by spence

Truth Lies...

...somewhere between Zionist plots
And homicidal holocausts
...somewhere between tyrant dictators
And freedom fighting liberators
...somewhere between opposing regimes
Between fascist ideals and utopian fantasies
...somewhere between Mosques and steeples
Beyond the subjugation and division of people
...somewhere between the poverty line
And the privilege of the maximised
...somewhere between good and evil
Where no individual is the sum of either
Somewhere between God and Devil incarnate
When self-determination rules over fate
...somewhere between heaven and hell
Upon this planet where we all must dwell
...somewhere between dreaming and waking
Where we care to use our imaginations
...somewhere between black and white
A collective understanding of what is wrong
...and what is right
...somewhere between love and hate
Where give and take self-perpetuate
...somewhere between the lines of the human song...
...truth lies in front of everyone

I had about given up on the word play contest, but at last I came to something comprehensible.
I really like this, Spence. It's like a plea to moderation, a prayer that people will realize that zealotry and extremism never solved anything, or served any purpose than to exaggerate the issue, and multiply the pain; divide the people and subtract reason. Well said, mate!

Very...VERY nicely done
Congrats ...
This is due 1st place to be sure...although I see you placed twice !

I do so love this...
Indeed ..."Truth" is personal...
it is as unique as the eyes through wich it is determined........
There is no actual "Gray area"..."truth" never changes...
the way we percieve it does....as do we..
gray...is that shift.

Nice rhyme while you were at it !
I'm off to read the other

Blesssssss

Dear spence,

Another nice one. The middle ground. Rationality. Why does the pendulum swing to extremes? Everyone knows the pendulum seeks forever the middle ground, rushing blindly past its goal only to reach the other extreme, realize it has made a mistake and that it has left its goal behind it. When will the pendulum stop?

Perhaps we are doomed to only get brief flashes of truth as we whiz by. Tragic!

Best regards,

Rick

excellent. It is always wise not to take an extremist view of anything- usually it tips you over the scales and turns one crazy. Good insight. and thanks for the review.

A definite statement nicely presented in poetic prose.

Perhaps the middle way will prove
to be the best of all the rest
Though it is rather hard to move
extremists who are obsessed
That their way is the only way
and cannot change their point of view.
The world is in a mess today
Because we don't as we should do.
