Bring Them In From The Cold

Bring Them In From The Cold

A Poem by spence

Bring them in from the cold
The homeless
The lonely
Those dispossessed souls
Their hand's set to fold
Bring them in from the cold
Save them from the creeping frost
Of heartache, hate and loss
Because
Whether you want to look or not
There are those that pay the highest cost
So show them caring and love
Help a little with their lot
Bring them in from the cold
The weak and the old
The vulnerable ones
Those most exposed
Those whose story is least told
But who poverty, misfortune and ignorance know
Be brave
Be bold
Sometimes you need only
Say 'Hello'
Share a smile
A kindly look
A tender touch
Or gentle hold
Or at most
You'll spend a penny
Just one amongst so many
For those that don't have any
Bring them in from the cold
And behold
The warmth that will grow
From within your heart and soul
Bring them in from the cold
