Learning to HealA Poem by spenceEver felt like you're drowning beneath the weight of life? Remember how it feels when you're coming up for air? I'm sure we've all been there.I’m learning to count the things that I’ve got Before those that I have not Or the things I feel I have lost I’m making positive changes and not only for myself A heart heals when it helps to heal the heart of someone else
I’m beginning to appreciate the things that are around me Instead of rueing indignities And the injustice I believe confounds me I’ll face these tribulations and not only for myself A mind heals when it helps to heal the mind of someone else
I’m starting to see beyond my own sorrows I dare to look to tomorrow On the road we must all follow I no longer feel afraid and not only for myself A soul is strong when it gives hope to the soul of someone else
