Monroe Avenue//“He Never Loved You”

Monroe Avenue//“He Never Loved You”

A Poem by Alexandra

Mom, I’m sorry
I’m not coming home tonight
I really wanted to go back to the way it was
When I used to arrive at 10 PM
But, your little girl is at it again
On the streets of random guys homes

Wasting away at the touch of others
Smoking cigarettes in their bedroom
With only a sheet to cover my body
I know I’m better than this
I know this isn’t who I am

This is what happens to girls
That don’t know what’s it like to be loved
