FADING SMILE

FADING SMILE

A Poem by SAYED THANGAL
"

Smiles, smiles.........but not every day

"
Lying up on her lap

Once I smiled to her.

Eager she was to see me grow

Grow in to healthy manhood.

Lifted her hands  to support

Till I stood firm , but time passed,

Turned my face side ways

A distance I keep today from her.

Totally she is forgotten

Enjoy the world glittering around

The wastes up on her face thrown

Still a fading smile on her lips.

The more I grow, the more cruel I become

Deeper the wound I make, bleeds

No longer , I know , she would bear,

I hear, with deaf ear, her appeal

Still, a fading smile on her face.

it's about our nature, and our cruelties against her

That's exactly what mine was about, a message from Mother Earth, I so understand...
Why? ...just why? No errata. Is this about a son that has distanced himself from his mother? If so, what has she done to deserve this?

Ah, thank you for the clarification, Sayed. My apologies for misunderstanding.
We all miss the way things were when we were young.Everything is magical when you are a kid.

nice words, thanks
I take this poem as you want to leave the big city that watched you grow and now it is so commercialized and glittery that you long for a simple or simpler way of life from the hustle and bustle...Another great write...:)......

Wow. Good to know...You are welcome...:)..............
What i understand from this poem, is how a mother used to care for a child and over time, her feelings fade. Maybe because of old age. At the end however, she still cares
