OF DESERTS

OF DESERTS

A Poem by SAYED THANGAL
"

Wild beauty stretching out,.......

"
Fail my sharp eyes to trace your boundaries
And infirm my firm feet to stride on.
The lashing wind turned you to waves
Of unending , the vast desert.

Transformed your stretching laps as milky bay
When the full moon flashes from above.
Amid the wilderness , who spotted the oasis
And fountains to preserve them green and live,
A centre of shade to stay cool
And to quench the thirsty lips.
Who deputed the birds marvellous
To sing for me, the song never heard before.
Provoke me to come again, and again
And forget the feet so far ached.
Who bestowed the unique mastery
To walk on the burned and dried sand
For the camels under the hot sun.

nice imagery Sayed . Does not deserts have a beauty uniquely of its own, only to see life in an oasis or the never ending mirage!

Thanks for finding time to read and comment.
A poem full of imagery, human thought metaphors and a touch of universal mystery. Well-written, Sayed.

You Sayed this beautifully!! Really a stunning mildly abstract stream of thought...
Nomadic visions and thirst quenched by sheer poetic freedom of word..i loved this.

coming from here, in the city full of sand, you've done a good job in putting a wonderful perspective what deserts are... trust me, the desert in isolated area are a marvel to see but to walk upon it and live on it is quite lonely, humid(in summer) and quite depressing when you see no one around... other than that, this is a very nice piece...
