Alexis and I hadn't talked since we left Blair and Julian's house, and that was yesterday. I had a feeling Alexis wasn't feeling well, so i made her some soup and brought it to our bed.
"Alexis, dear. are you OK?" she was laid up in bed, with books all around her, which was unusual, because she never read.
"yeah, Alex. i'm just nauseous." she laid back farther, and made a little sound of sickness, and i instantly felt bad for her. it was 8 A.m, so i wondered what had happened. she didn't eat anything last night, so it couldn't have been something she ate. i took the soup back into the kitchen, and went and sat next to her on the bed.
"Alex, please don't touch me. i don't like to be touched when i'm nauseous." I took my hand out of hers and she shot up out of the bed, looking slightly green. "I'm going to take a shower." she walked quickly into the bathroom, and turned on the shower. I believed her until i heard her retching. I walked out of our room, and called Blair.
"Hullo?" I had forgotten that it was eight A.M., and felt kind of bad, but i was more focused on Alexis.
"Blair. I need you to come to my house."
"Why, and can i bring Julian? it'll be good for him to wake up early." she sounded more slightly awake, and i could just see her pushing back her bangs, and moving to Julian's room.
"Sure, but it's because Alexis is sick."
"oh, OK. let me move without waking up Julian yet, and i'll hop in the shower." I furrowed my brow immediately. Blair didn't... did she?
"Don't 'Blair' me; we fell asleep on the couch watching a movie." I breathed a sigh of relief, and focused back on Alexis.
"OK, well just get here soon. i'm kind of really worried." I hung up and went back to our room, grabbing one of my many notebooks on the way there.
20 minutes later, Blair walked in, with her hair natural, and her eyes dim from sleepiness. Julian was at her side, looking more awake than she, and was basically holding her up, because she looked dead tired.
"this time it wasn't me who stayed up until three A.M. she claimed she was up thinking." Julian said, Grabbing her tighter, to make sure she didn't fall.
"I was thinking." she said, pushing him off of her, then falling slightly side ways. Julian smiled slowly, and grabbed her, supporting her weight with his arms, and she almost fell asleep again in his arms.
"you couldn't make it without me." she smiled, and put her hand on his chest, pushing him away slowly.
"Well, Alexis is in the back." Blair shook her head, and raised her eyebrows trying to wake herself up.
"Hit me." she said, bracing herself. I looked at Julian, and he raised his eyebrows as if saying, 'you hit her, and i'll kill you'. "No, Julian, I need him to. i'm tired, and i'm not going to be able to make it through without a hit in the face, per say." I raised my hand, and hit her slightly on the arm. she chuckled slightly.
"you're both a couple of wusses." she pushed past me and walked hand-in-hand with Julian to my room. i followed quickly, but stopped when i bumped into Julian.
"what gives, Blair?" I asked, anxious to see what was wrong with my wife.
"now, i'm going to go in there by myself, and you guys aren't going to follow me." i made a noise of protest, but Blair cut me off with a look. "No. i'm going in there to talk to her about girly things. i think i know what's going on anyway."
"what? what's going?" i asked worriedly, trying to push past Julian, but he stopped me.
"Buh-bye." she turned and walked into the room, leaving me and Julian alone in the hallway. I heard Blair's sympathetic tone, and turned to Julian.
"She's not going to let us in."
"I know," he replied, nodding. we walked to the living room, and sat down on different couches. my living room had 3 small couches, all in suede black, and we positively loved them. our living room spelled 'comfortable'.
we sat there in silence for a few minutes, and i could tell Julian was deep in thought.
"What's on your mind, Julian?" Julian looked up as if startled, and put his elbows on his thighs.
"Blair doesn't want to have a wedding," he moved his fists to his lips and thought for a second. " That wouldn't be a problem, if... I didn't want one, but i do."
"Why? I remember mine was a hassle, even if it was small." I couldn't fathom why he would want one, but it was Julian, and he was unpredictable.
"I've read all her books, as you know. and her tales of romance... they just get me. and after reading just one, i wanted a wedding so bad, i felt like a girl." he chuckled, then regained his seriousness. "and i know she wants one. this just... in her mind, it's not the time, with Sahara out there. but, in mine, it's perfect. what's better to jump-start a wedding than a murderer bent on killing you?" we sat there for a few moments, until Blair walked out of the room and to the living room. She grabbed Julian's hand and nearly dragged him out of the room.
"Bye, Alex. oh, and..." she smiled slyly, and i got scared. "Name the baby after me." she walked out, leaving a stunned Julian and I to just look at each other while they walked out.
I was having a child. what the heck was i going to do?
