Absence Makes the Heart Grow Fonder

Dear Mother,
I can't help but wonder,
where do you wander?
As I ponder and ponder
to search for my beloved mother.

Where are you, Mother?
Can't you hear the sound of the thunder?
It's so loud that I timidly shiver
under this old worn cover.
I'm all alone, Mother.
Just all alone with my kitten Hunter,
who's now my only brother.

Tell me if I'm a bother,
but never abandon me, Mother.
I can find a new cosy shelter,
a warm fireplace for winter,
and a pet to accompany me every hour.
But what I really wished for
was true love from a mother.

I am not becoming younger, but older.
Still, my love towards you never wither.
Surely, my world is now darker than ever,
but your face in my mind makes it brighter.
"Absence makes the heart grow fonder",
is what I believe forever.
I miss you, Mother.
I love you forever.
