My Mustang

My Mustang

A Poem by Leo
"

Literally about My Mustang

"

That anticipated moment

Of the turn of her ignition switch

Unleashes 400 wild horses with a single twitch

Now I’m feeling wired and enraged

So I rev up her engine and with a blink of an eye she is engaged

I floor it on highway  road and burn some rubber

Porsche and ChevySS quickly take a cover and hide like a thunder

Might sound like a thunder yet a big blunder!

Out on a Beautiful breezy night with my Mustang shifting gears

I look to my right and I see a BMW and to my left a Camaro

Girls complain men don’t listen - so I deliberately turn off her stereo

Haha

Focusing instead on her V8 bad a*s engine roar

Hell! No mood swings only RPMs, controlled by my gas pedal

Doesn’t talk back or whine nor bail or complain

Makes a man’s troubles fade and disdain

But boy do you have a legal prescription for that true hurricane!

This is not terrible. Testosterone fueled but articulate.

I f*****g hate Richard Siedel but, he's a legend and writes about his motorcycles in a similar way.

You aint legendary good like he is... but you're okay.

I can take this and enjoy... that's a good day for everyone I think

Altho I’ve never been enthralled by a car myself (motorcycles, yes, but not cars) . . . I’ve been around enuf motorheads to get your drift loud & clear. I like your way of playing with a scattering of rhyme & the best part: turning off the stereo so you can “listen to her” (good one!) All in all, this is a little clunky as far as flow . . . your passages could be a little more smooth & va-va-voom! But your overall message is true to the life & packed with good details (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

You are welcome. ...:)))))
Oh, this is just painful! Hurt me, Hurt me!

See, my first car was a '69 with a 289! Got it cheap but 16 years of age, not only could I not afford to put work into the battered body, but I learned a man had been shot in the head by a jealous bf (he was makin' out in the back seat at the time)...the friend of the man that sold me the car.

Thanks for...ruining my afternoon...just playin'

I enjoyed this I could feel the adrenaline of taking her for a spin, putting her to the test, and putting others to shame... though not a huge fan of mustangs I did like the poem. Nicely done.
