Earns you a living 

Perks and pay are great

Yet feels like you're the CEO's mop

The lifestyle is free

Free is a b***h

Free is also great

But you can't just be

Years have passed by

What have you accomplished

I feel this is my soul. Sometimes it feels like a constant battle. Let me know if you ever figure it out...

Thanks Kati for reading..I'm surprised I'm receiving reviews for this..because I never finished it and published it by accident :)

Anyway, I have many thoughts on freedom. A real battle for me is free will of choice, but that's another subject with many different angles. In this poem I meant 2 things:
1. An ideal job that gives you good pay and a very good lifestyle
2. A job that gives you space outside work where you dont take work with you back home

I was simply reflecting on a job I had that provided me the above.

I need to finish this poem because by "freedom" I also meant that instead of us "individuals" working to make money, money works for us such as becoming rich by investing or trading or owning business and hiring others to run it for you and you just reap etc etc

i feel very lucky and this poem reminds me how lucky i am to be teaching...i have never considered that a job, or work...just enjoyment and fulfillment...however, for many years, 30 i worked in Restaurant and had many other "just jobs"
and they made me feel what this poem expresses.

You definitely bring up a great point of view. Teaching implies constant learning and personal growth for your self in order to be able to inspire others. I've always been a fan of academics myself. I graduated 16 years ago yet believe it or not I still remember everything including names of professors and students who used to plagiarize :). I am against "auto-pilot" and try to be as mindful as possible. I'll be sure to let you know if I end up in the teaching field or advisory. Thanks and blessings
