A Small Extent of My Love

A Small Extent of My Love

A Poem by AMetaphoricalSoul

You are the ultimate image of beauty
You are the pouring rain in the blazing sun
The peace and stillness of a raging river
The one rose among thorns
You are the sun
Setting on the horizon
You are the only smile
In a crowd of angry people
You are the one
Whose footsteps echo in the dark
Your whispers
Are heard among shouts
Your face defines words like love and beauty
You have a presence
That makes me dream
You have a smile
That makes me want to scream
Makes me want to get down on my knees
And unfold my love
Express it
To the fullest extent
But it is beyond me
As your eyes make me speechless
Your silence
Lets me hear our two hearts beat as one
And I know
We are meant for each other

I'd say this was more than a small extent of love and devotion

Sheer beauty in each line, so very nicely penned and lovely indeed!

THanks for sharing in the Stupid CUpid contest

actually the rhyme was completely intended because I wanted to break the flow. it's that little hiccup that shows that no matter how perfect love seems, it's never absolutely perfect. subtle, I know, but I just put it there for me to know the difference

are the only lines that bother me. You probably didn't intend on it rhyming, but it takes away from the flow of the poem overall. I do, however, like it other than that one flaw.
