1

Are the planets lonely as they rotate in space?

In their case

They long for the sun’s embrace.

Why else would they keep going round and around

Hoping that one day

In a release of fire

The sun pulls them in

And lonely no more

They are granted

Their desire

To be one with their lover

Under a cover

Of heat and flame

Calling the sun’s name.

2

Only one moon going round the earth

She ponders the particulars of her birth

And yes, she is sad in her solitude

Her mood

Depending on the angle of the sun

So she uses her powers to have a

Desperate kind of fun

Drives men mad

Hypnotizes cats

Makes the slats

In the bed

Go blammedy blam

In the evening.

(A nod to Josh White.)

i'm liking this...and it makes me think of soulmates...

and if we don't find that sun or moon...do we settle for one of the other stars and make the most of it....

or do we dwell in darkness and despair in a blank sky?

really like how you used the imagery in this...and the metaphor.
