Pittsburgh Is Like Love

by

Steppenwolf

Pittsburgh is a place of deep divisions

Ravines slope sharply down

Cutting the town

Into slices like a triangular cake

Make an unplanned move

And you’re going the wrong way

Down a one-way street.

Such is love.

A sudden turn

Makes the tires burn

And we learn too late

To slow down at the yellow light.

We fight

We get lost in the dark

We end up in a place

Where we didn’t want to be

The key

Is to abandon ourselves

Without delay

Listen to the music play

As the merry-go-round

At Kennywood

Slightly out of tune

Howls at the moon

And the children step off

Dizzy but safe

In their parents’ arms

And love rises like cotton candy.

nice look at Pittsburgh, with a cleverly done rhyme scheme...and some stark images...i like the part about cutting the town into slices...
