Someone Elses Body

Someone Elses Body

A Poem by KAREN

Shortage of energy,

she feels fake, useless.

The gateway to peace is locked,

the key wont work.

Tears of emptiness stain her face.

She's trapped inside herself.

Maintaining balance is difficult.

Her body is stiff, doesn't feel like hers.

She feels like a mannequin,

unable to think clearly.

Glossy sad eyes, dark and gloomy stare into space.

Her sanity is no longer there.

She's lost inside herself.

Strings being pulled,

makes her feel like a marionette.

All sense of direction is gone.

Mood swings shadow her every move.

Her feet feel like miry clay,

firmly stuck in despair.

She's buried inside herself.

Everyday is like a masquerade party.

She wears a new mask daily,

no one notices her.

Cries of no return keep her company.

She feels her only alternative is death.

She's drowning inside herself.

She sits in her padded room,

strait jacket on.

There's no survival mode left.

She's trapped,

she's lost,

she's buried alive,

she's drowning.

She welcomes death.

The end......

If only she wasn't trapped.

How we trap ourself into our own prison and cage.everyone has it own cage, prison, is just.. how we unlock it, feels real bad she dies at the end.. it gives me a sense of hopeless in the very end! I love the emotions into this poem, its really sad on how it goes... The ending two stanza is like a hit to my heart!

Overall, its heart breaking and very deep with emotion!

Easy to feel lock-up and in prison. When we begin to shut down. Hard to find energy and desire to do things. A very strong ending to a excellent poem. I could feel the depression in the words.

wow, this so emotional, and how many of us have felt this way at some time or another. This is awesome but yet so sad too.

I could see the old lady down the road from me in this one...Trapped by her age and her loss of leg usage..I carry her and her husband down hot meals now and then as she hates meals on wheels..when I am old and alone..maybe God will let someone think of bringing me a warm meal once in a while..Kathie

I hope I never feel this way that is for sure. A dark story of a mind out of control and I wonder what caused all this in her. Good write.

This is a sad poem. Unfortunately many people feel this way. The last stanza is jarring...too trapped even to die. Good poem!
