Simply Irresistible Recipe

Simply Irresistible Recipe

A Poem by KAREN
"

Words to live by!

"

Fill the soul with

lovingkindness and tender mercy.

Attitude chilling with patience.

Strength measured by the cup.

season the heart with peace,

folding comfort in with hugs.

Face each other with faith,

blending in a dab of hope.

Understanding stirred in by the carton.

Pop open a bottle of laughter,

and let it bubble over.

Sprinkle in a packet of romace,

sweet kisses on lips.

Melt together desire and passion

with the heat of entwined bodies.

Keep warm with loving arms,

and serve daily.

Beautifully done!

This would be a great wedding gift. Reminding young couples of the work it takes to keep a recipe fresh and stop it from spoiling. What a wonderful description as opposed to "don't take each other for granted". Love it.

This is quite novel! As a cook myself, I appreciated your analogizing food-prep imagery with the blossoming of a relationship (particularly, I admit, the melting together of desire and passion!) Rather reminds me of a piece I wrote over thirty years ago called "Life Loaf", comparing in recipe format the hard knocks life brings us with the brutalizing of a piece of steak (the only way to make it tender!), or the punching-down of a too-yeasty loaf, and the slower but more stable Second Rise ('pon which another entire story might be built, mightn't it!). It's not posted here (or anywhere), but if you're intrigued, I'll hunt it up and PM it to you.

I love your analogies. I enjoyed reading it, and it was slightly reminiscent of the bird poem. Good job. :D
