What I Am

For the creative poetry group. We had to write about ourselves.

I'm a genteel person,

living in submissive dreams.

Voices so acute and real,

telling me who I am,

or who I should be.

A tender heart

and an optimistic mind

helps me to succeed.

Joyful soul mixed with

a soft sensitive side

keeps me pushing on.

This sounds very much like a personal ad on craigslist and maybe perhaps you could sell some of these poems to some of the singles out there. Very much like Hallmark but, something new; Maybe a good business idea to make millions I hope. :)

voices so acute and real telling me who I am or should be..

contradictory. subtle voices are telling you (telling, not subtle) who you are or should be.

I think you can go deeper here... is it your voice? Is it others? And if they are telling you, are they really being as sweet as you are about it? Does it make you mad?
