Ishq-e-Majazi

Why am I stranded here on earth

when you are below me

caught in a web of powerful control?

Why can I not reach out

and hold you; touch your face,

when you are so close?

What is this force that stands,

like a wall of stone,

between our hearts?

What would it take to break

those beggar’s bonds

of grey steel

and let us join,

as one in unity

in the forest of our love?

He stands over you,

his calloused hand

stifling your screams

as you look to me

and whisper in hushed pain

help me John, take me from this place!

Alright, all I know about this form of poetry is what you told me earlier, I always go for the feel anyway, and the 'forest of our love' spoke volumes to me as did your White Knight redemption here. Always that damn wall getting in the way, enjoyed it Gabriel.

I like this one a lot, and it has a "damsel in distress" feel, but somehow I feel pity for the rescuer ... A good write. As to these formats, I have to say, I do not remember nor do I research forms of poetry. I write 'em and read 'em and take 'em as they come -- every once in a while I write prose, think I might have tried sonnets at some point, and that is about it, so I will take your word on how it's supposed to be.
