Ample Apologies

A Poem by John Stussy
"
For the love of my life
"

Ample apologies

Over-compensate

For the many

Nothings-gone-wrong

That plague you with guilt.

No sorries are needed

To cover your actions.

Baby, this chapter

Of life is now over.

Hear me out my love.

Growing up, during those years,

You were wrongly denied your worth.

Beauty was tragically unsung,

Blame bestowed due to neglection

By the ones who're supposed to care.

Flaws were pointed out daily,

Though one common trait they shared.

Either fabled or of no fault of yours.

Your past is sadness and pain,

Loneliness and cold, 18 year sentence.

You got used to

Living this way.

It's all done now,

Life has become

Just you and me.
