Loser of the battle, winner of the war

Loser of the battle, winner of the war

A Poem by Kaitlyn Stone

You're nothing

but a bully.

Brainless with

words like bullets;

you will never know

of truth or love, because

you never knew how

to appreciate either.

You shoot, and

shoot

as I smile, listening to the shells fall

to the floor,

echoing in the dark.

You're trapped;

hiding in

selfish skin

untouched by the warmth of my

heavenly light.

In camouflage

you laugh with a

gun in your grasp and

pills in your pockets.

I was not worth fighting for.

You shot the first bullet:

my beating heart,

bled because of you"

while you stood by my side,

watching me suffer. You

flew across the sea

to cause more bloodshed,

coming home just to

finish the kill.  Since then,

I've dreamed of death

less dreadful than

your leeching love.

The truth is love and

your love was a lie, so

I marched away

from the field with my

scars still pink and the

sound of gunshots

behind me.
