Silent Lovers

Silent Lovers

A Poem by Bethany
"

The second part of this poem was meant to be the beginning, but was later changed. I had the idea of it in science class while working. I quickly wrote it down and it later bloomed into this.

"

She was the storm;

I was the ground.

I was quiet.

She was loud.

Her heart was like fire.

Her soul burned bright.

I wasn’t ready for her power,

And all her might.

She rose to the top;

Pushed all out of her way.

None tried to fight her.

It was too hard anyways.

So, I sat there,

There on that hard ground,

Watching her diligently;

Waiting for her to fall down.

And when she fell,

I was there.

To hold her in my arms,

And to pet her hair.

I would not let her shatter.

I would not let her break.

I would push her back to the sky,

And I would continue to wait.

Can anyone give some pointers on how I need to punctuate poems?

I think its fine the way it is the poem I mean. its simple, nicely written and every sentence was so full of feelings but i loved the last two lines the most. they gave it a really nice ending. LOL seriously if it were my science teacher than it would have been like me=dead. anyway nice poem keep your masterpieces coming :)

Lol; the best way to punctuate poems is to stay out of science class. I'm sure you can find some hard and fast rules on this, but the beauty of poetry is you really don't need to follow them. Your use of periods, commas and semicolons in this poem works well; as well as the breaks in verse.

Great Poem. Very original in it's concept/analogy.
