Sparkle

Sparkle

A Poem by December Blaize
"

Too many wonderful souls go this way, it's a shame.

"
Oh honey, how I used to love
Your eyes, so pretty,
Oh how they did sparkle so!
Your laugh was loud,
Your surreptitious smile
Made me stop and stare for awhile.
You were lovely, everything
I couldn't be, perfect
And standing right in front of me.

But now, oh honey, how
Did you come to this?
You're so burnt out, run-down,
Your laugh is gone,
Your smile replaced by a frown
And you're letting everybody down.
Oh how I used to love
That bright and beautiful heart
That showed in your eyes,
Your lovely eyes that sparkle no more.
