THE MANGO TREE

THE MANGO TREE

A Poem by sunset_vineyard

                          THE MANGO TREE

By the well, stood the mango tree,
so tall, lush green,as if mocking its immortality
to the evening brisk breeze, its leaves would quiver,
such an alluring site, hypnotizing smell of splinters.....

On the orange sun silhouette of birds be seen
kids exploring around,curious and keen...
few leaves flies away, but new once will grow,
in our prime we are all meant to shine and glow.....

It kept stalking the endless skies
as ages and ages passed by.....
kids they grew and were not so keen,
but even it wasnt any lush and green...

In its melancholy,it understood the game...
as it has always been ,time cannot be tamed.
hopes  germinate, shapes desires,
some fulfills us,others are liars.

The evening breeze , brisk and cold,
but to quiver , the leaves are no more.
by the well, learned the old mango tree,
worldly things cant effectuate immortality.

This is the way,as it has always been...
what we flaunt today, tommorow may not be seen.
