A Mom is...

A Mom is...

A Poem by superficialtalk
"

A poem just in time for Mother's Day.

"
'Mother' is not just a word.
'Mother' is a woman not to be deterred.
She is someone's whole universe,
And it's the same in reverse.

A mother is a soldier
Fighting an endless war
Against scraped knees and broken hearts,
Against a low salary and shopping carts.

A mother is a superhero,
Though her kids may think she's a zero.
She swoops in to save the day,
Without a word a thanks; that's her way.

A mother is a fortune teller,
And she is a counselor.
She tells you what will happen
As a result of your actions

Yet a mother is also a therapist,
Ready to sit and hear a list
Of people who hurt you,
Of people who never followed through.

A mother is everything you need.
From a tutor to help you succeed,
To a steadfast tree;
Strong, so you don't have to be.

A mother will hold you tight,
Tuck you in at night.
Sing you a song,
And though you're too old, you play along.

A mother is not just a woman;
She always has a plan.
She is strong like steel;
She's hell in high heels.
