Boom

Boom

A Poem by Susanna F
"

To Sean, in my darkest hour.

"

Boom. Boom. Boom.

Something beats

In this ravaged shell.

I begin to bleed

Begin to breathe

Begin to be again.

I see your eyes

Your fingers grasp

Pulling me from the brink.

I beg you please

Don’t let go yet

I am still struggle-weak.

I rest now, rest - breathe a moment

Step now, step - one at a time

Forward, forward, back again.

“Be yourself,” I hear

“You decide,” you say

Change of POV.

You are beside me

Then watch me go

We all walk alone.

My soul in flames

Fear burns away

I learn to live again.
