First day of my Job

First day of my Job

A Poem by Sagar Waingankar

First day after joining that too on a Monday morning,
Confused and tensed, my papers are not cleared yet.

My father working on my papers,
My disguise mostly seems to be a creeper,
Working for basic needs thinking, What's gonna be our supper?

Colleagues at my new office,
Mostly seems to be grey-haired,
Fascinated from them to keep a long beard.

Things are quite slowly working here,
Mostly files and papers scattered every where.

Interiors are quite good with white colour long spread,
Cabins and stations arranged as per grade.

Few young faces, I can see roaming here,
Looking at their nature,
It seems will soon grow grey-hair.

Walking lazily with their foot skatting on the tile,
Looking at them, it seems they have walked quite a mile.

I promised myself, shouldn't be one of them,
But I'm quite sure will enjoy playing this game.

I wish I had a job to write about...still trying the non-existent job market here. If it seems mundane, hey, approach it like its not...we are all in control of very little in life but our attitude is one thing we can control. Bless you and I hope you find your new work rewarding.

Last line is the promise we all made. Hard not to fall to the need to eat and pay rent. I like the description and the ending. Thank you for the excellent poem.

Exploring thoughts and attitudes... and reasons. Expectations and wishes...

A good after taste.
