Adore

A Poem by Sagar Waingankar

A man requested me  to write,
A poem on my favourite person,
Whom I admire and felt to be bright.

All people who came across me are to be admired,
As I learned many things from each of them,
Still I need to be specific about them.

The person whom I admire the most is my father,
Unfortunately we never matched on our views,
But he resides just next to my lovingly mother.

I admire him the most,
For his love and efforts for my upbringing,
For all the sacrifices he did,
To bear my notorious and crazy behaviour.

All the above seems to be common,
Most fathers deal in the same way with their kids,
There is something more I need to speak.

During my teenage, I was quite aggressive,
There were many conflicts,
Between me and my father's views.

I was quite stubborn and selfish in my way,
But my father being strong with his principles,
Never gave up to my greed,
He made me follow his rules with all his love on me.

I used to quarrel but never raised my voice,
Some where inside there was a fear,
But it wasn't actually what I thought,
It was the love, respect and discipline,
I learned from my parents.

Today when I look at my father,
I smile merrily inside,
Thinking, how hard this man worked,
To make me understand life's what about,
From his eyes.

A profile of the mind of a young man in our generation, especially in relation to his father. Sounds like he learnt to get along. Which means he may be contributing to society with his efforts at self change management. He's gonna be busy. A poem about current issues and our ability to look at change in the face.

Well said and done... there are language flaws but not a single "thought" flaw.

Sometime we must a lifetime to understand the pain and struggle to raise a family. I like the way you got to the ending. Describing life and fears. I like the ending. Takes years to learn wisdom and to be silence can be the best answer. Thank you for the amazing poem.

Wow, beautiful. Makes me really grateful for having my parents and for them to be kind enough to be my anchor and moor. Love this poem.
