one way street signs

one way street signs

A Poem by bob

One way street signs point in the direction of the wrong path.
The wrong path for the adventurous spirit.
Trees and rubble block the path I seek.
The path they hold in front of me is stalking me.
Burnt out brains and threads of the baseball reach to the point of questioning.
Heads or tails...
give me truth...
Surrounded with beauty or the American Dream...
Medicine puts me to bed each night...and wakes me each morning to close the door.
Medicine is the only thing that makes sense anymore.
Lets burn the place down ...the light tower, and walk slowly from the fire.
Just to be a faded memory.
I don’t want to walk around.
I don’t want to breathe.
The city is burning down as we speak,
but all the people are smiling,
waiting for the new light to shine down on them...
