The Exact Shade of Your Eyes

The Exact Shade of Your Eyes

A Poem by Lumière Déclinante

You said that when I miss you

You'll be there in my mind

But baby, by now you should know

I dream in black and white

So how can I remember

The exact shade of your eyes

When, whenever I was with you

I was too busy being blind.

Thought-provoking. It seems to me that this isn't just about fading memory but also fading love. Sweet and sad.

I loved the poem for the most part, short n' sweet as you put it. I'm not sure how the last line fits into the rest of the poem or the speaker's tone with respect to the person she is addressing.

Perfect...As if it were not enough, the black and white images in my mind are braille...a language only read by my soul...

About
Hi :) My real name is Anna, an Irish person would hardly have the name Lumière Déclinante. In my defence, it seemed like a good idea at the time. I sort of do that a lot. Start things t.. more..
