Burnout

We can rebuild him. We will make him better than before. ...

By day's full light
With humbled eyes see I
The charred remains
Of once proud moving domain

Stunned and awed I walk around
Blessed to have found
The danger of its first builders haste
A timber box disguised by beautiful face

Lesson learned
Start from scratch and build it once again
Only this time will be
True house and barn on wheels

Slow and true
Little by little
Once deadly camper will rise
A phoenix from the ashes

Author's Note

As bad as my mistake was it could have been much worse. I feel blessed that this happened here and not after I was moved and settled in with livestock on board. As fast as it burned, had I been asleep, none of us would have gotten out alive.

Reminds me of a saying my friend jon had one time,"Better to burnout than fade away!" This way you can build as you see fit. Nice poem. Especially the part of the Phoenix rising from the ashes!
