Ode to Lady

Ode to Lady

A Poem by Norma M Sutton
"

For my 8 month old Livestock Guardian Dog. More on the job then either of her parents ever were.

"

I feel a tremor in my soul
As across the field I gaze
For what glorious wonders my eyes behold
Within that wayward haze

I hear a whispering in my ear
As wandering grazers pass me by
Following behind them near
And just a little shy

Black eyes peer from snow white face
As she watches far and wide
Full of patience and grace
My helper by my side

Lady though young you are
You know more then I expected
I know you will go far
As each and every noise is inspected

Following closely at your side
Your little goat
He can not hide
Not with you to tote him far and wide

Your laughing face
Always smiles at me
So full of grace
With knowing eyes you see

I'm sure Lady is quite the loyal guardian of the livestock and friend. Is she a Great Pyrenees? At any rate, she surely deserves your lovely ode to her.
