The pleasure that I find
when you take me in your arms
and hold my naked body close
as we become one
can not be described with words
for there are none

You say this is what the attraction is
...like a junkie needing the next fix
and you are right....only
theres so much more

Theres sitting across the table from you
watching you enjoy your dinner...
green leaf salad with purple onions and
mushrooms and black olives and bleu cheese,
and grilled salmon
or
a messy, sloppy, lots a gravy roast beef po-boy
with a dill pickle
it makes no difference as long as its you across the table

Theres the way the corners of your eyes crinkle
when you really laugh
the very distinctive sound of your voice
the familiar gestures that only I see
the way your glasses sit on your nose
and the look of mischief in your eye

The way you carefully tend your plants
and the poetry you write
your unfinished paintings
the special love you have for your girls
and the way your hand holds mine

The dancing in the kitchen on Saturday nightwith a wine glass in one hand
and a wooden spoon in the other
watching your face as you sleep in the early morning light
the way you walk...so sure of yourself

The list goes on and on
The love continues to flow
Theres so very much more
