I hold your photo to my chest

Thinking of the day you gave it to me

Telling me you’ll always be here forever

Forever is long gone

Because all I have left of you

Is the photo I hold to my chest

The one that has tasted my tears

The one I scream to

Then say sorry to

The one I kiss over and over again

Hoping its only a dream

Because I can’t bare the pain

Because I still want you to be here.

I lift my hand up

Admire the big ring

The one you placed on my hand

Telling me that one day we’ll be married

But that one day never came

And I stare at this ring

In hopes for a dream

Longing for that day to come to me

The day where I say ’I do’

The day where I’m only yours

And your only mine.

When I can give myself to you

And be forevermore together

I snuggle the shirt

That hangs over my body

The shirt that stayed on my bed

As you left you said you’ll be back for it tomorrow

But tomorrow never came for you

And I hope for a dream

And I want tomorrow to come

Because that means I get to see your beautiful face

And touch your sweet face

When you hold me in your arms

When you hold me against your body

When you hold me and tell you love me

Because that’s all I really want from you

I hold your memory in my heart

Because you gave yourself to me

And it seems like you’ll never go far from my mind

Because forever seems to live out in my heart

And before my eyes I see all the memories

Just another gift from you

I’ll sit here and hold on to you

Because you said forever

And forever you’ll be here

Occupying my heart and soul

Taking my love with you

Because you’re gone

That is really a touching piece... so sad... the greatest memorabilia a person can give us has nothing to do with material things... it is what they leave for you heart to feel and the memories you make together... those are things that can never be taken from you and leave that person close to you.
