Tick-Tock

Tick-Tock

A Poem by Tarry Franck

Tick-Tock Tick-Tock
Says the clock
As time races on
The children enjoy
The daily sun
Until dreamland
Calls them beyond...

A gentle kiss
A soft hug
From Mom and Dad
And dream time is about to begin
In the meantime
The guardian Angels
Spread their wings
And from Heaven
They descend...

They fluff the pillows
And warm the sheets
To prepare the children
For a good night sleep...

The children began
To climb in bed
Until Mom and Dad
Remind them
"The Lord's prayer
Must be said"...

Mom and Dad begin to pray
And the children follow along
And at the end of the prayer
The children say,
"God bless our family
and our home"...

Warmth within the covers
The children find
And the lights go out
To begin their dream time...

The angels hover above
And wait patiently
As they lull the children in
With a soothing melody
And escort them
Through their dream time fantasy...

The children wake
With the morning sun
Refreshed and full of energy
With happy dream time stories
To share with the whole family.

I like the use of time in the poem. Time with parent leave permanent good memories to hold on to. I enjoyed the complete poem.

I totally agree!
One of the first positive heartwarming pieces I've read here, family is often what keeps us going during times of hardship. Is this an experience you've dreampt of? Or one you have had? I feel as though a personal mark on this poem would be nice just to take it to that next level!
