Lord Keep Me

Lord Keep Me

A Poem by Tarry Franck

You devour everything in your path
With your frightened teeth
Lord keep me away
From the heat,
You pounce on your prey
On the dark paths
Through the dark woods
Lord keep me in the light of day,
You are at the edge of my footsteps
I know
I can feel your breath
And I must move faster, I must go,
I know you lurk in darkness
Afraid of the light
And I see a path before me
A path ever so bright,
A path that you can't follow
For you are a dark soul
Hopefully for me
You soon will die of growing old.

There are multiple possibilities to this poem. It stirs questions in the reader. Are you talking about a spiritual stalker? Is this a Inner demon of personality, drugs, or alcohol? Is this just a person in your life that is trying to hurt you? This is written with so well. It reminds us to put on the full armor and protect ourselves from all evil and evil-doers. Great Job!

A interesting poem. I could feel the desire to break free. I like the desire of God to assist. A interesting ending also. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

I really enjoy your style in how you write your lines and keep it short and keep the reader reading more...but The Lord you speak of in this poem sounds like a demon , so I got confused about that

Wow this is really interesting and I like the thought of a path, a path that is bright, which a dark soul cannot follow. I think I have lost that path.

Great depiction of evil. We all need to look out for evil and evildoers.
