Housekeeper

Housekeeper

A Poem by terry smith

She made the four corners of our bed
like she was shaping
a tombstone

gently
she smoothed out
the wrinkles
so as not to disturb
the dead

Dark but I love it. Gives an interesting insight to maids, military etc.

It happens; often so slowly that we do not recognise it until it is too late to turn back the covers and rumple the sheets.

Beccy.

Makes you want to sleep standing up - interesting short bitter/sweet write - loved it really! :-)

Nice and tight, ship shape...just like they teach you in the service! Good to see you again, Terry!
