Anchor

Anchor

A Poem by Fire&Ice

I've been thrown overboard,

Falling through thick air, sinking,

Crash, the waters swallow me whole,

An arched back to an unwelcoming wave,

And I am sunk.

My arms granulate and scatter,

My legs shelter the crustaceans,

And my hair sways like the slimy reeds,

Pushed and pulled by currents.

The lids of my eyes grow soggy,

As the frays of my body tear away,

Yet I still feel all the parts of me,

Floating away with the fish.
