Remember Them

Remember Them

A Poem by lunawolf
"

Very rarely do we think of or remember all those who have died to make a change- how many can you name?

"

Millions will die for one cause

Hardly any will get recollection for their sacrifice

Some get angry at the other who forget those who died

But let’s face it

Thousands die daily for different reasons and almost all are in vain

Almost none are remembered

But no one fights to be remembered

They fight to make a change, make a difference

They are more than happy to die if needed

To give up their lives to save others

Even if it means none will remember them

Unlabeled graves

Forgotten over time

Left to rot alone

Nothing left but rotten flesh and bone

No one remembers them

But what a difference they made

_____

This was not written about soldiers in mind, instead it was written when I was thinking about the many people throughout history who risked their lives to make change happen and to help people. How many names do you know of the people who worked on the underground railroad after all? Instead it was written to just remind us all a little bit that sometimes the most important people in history are the ones we can't remember.
