Today is the Day

Today is the Day

A Poem by Teela Bryant

Today is the Day

I hang my head and pray
For today is the day.
And not in a happy way.

I let the tears slide
And decide not to hide.
For today is the day
You left my life.

My heart breaks
At the thought of you.
I think of you everyday
Wishing you were here to play

I hang my head and pray
That you are ok.
For today is the day
And not in a good way.

I let the tears slide
And decide not to hide.
For today is the day
That you died.

My heart breaks
For you my unborn child
My heart breaks
You did not survive.

So I hang my head and pray
For today is the day.

Any person who is half way human will be
moved to tears by this poem.
It is about the loss of a child which is probably
the most horrible thing that could happen to a girl,
but it is more
This poem is a lesson in good writing, it holds out
hope for the future, it is well constructed and
it appeals to the world at large.
Thank you,
----Eagle Cruagh

This is so perfect. It's simple, but so full of emotion that I can't help but hurt for you. Thank you so much for sharing.
