In The Field

In The Field

A Poem by ((Teenage_Poet_Loser))
"

inspired by a previous poem...

"

Abandoned lays a stiffened body

flies fly past his stinking wake,

a slight skew mouth, unable to talk,

the words creep to his lips;

pushed aside, left alone, rotten he is,

eyes open and pointed to the sky,

fierce breathing chest, still body,

a faint sound in the distance

awaken the body, sleep still fallen over,

hands clasped around the bible,

but a piece of grass is all the hope.

He lies still in the grass,

black lines of ants walk in his mouth,

a chapter ended;

dew form around his eyes,

tears roll down the black cheek,

a typewriter types next to the body.

A life has ended.

Author's Note

((Teenage_Poet_Loser))
what i tried to do was take the image of a dead body, eyes open, mouth open like he wanted to say something, but he is dead of course... and in his hand he holds the grass, where there was a bible previously... just a simple poem :)

This was very descriptive and it actually reminded me of someone else's writing but I can't place who was...maybe someday I'll remember and get back to you on it. Anyway, I really enjoyed this. It is certainly an image and I think that anyone who reads this will be able to create an equally beautiful and terrifying image of their own. Great job {:

The imagery left me shaken a bit and that is a tribute to the composer being able to reach ones emotions with chosen words. Thanks for sharing.

I like the ideal of the body trying to speak, though bones do tell quite extraordinary stories. Nice work.

This is dark and spooky but so darn excellent.. I felt as if I was sitting in the grass watching it all take place..xo You nailed this for sure..xo

A very interesting poem. Death, a book and a vision of a typewriter. Many great writers died in war. Men like Hemingways died from the memories later. Good poetry. Made me think today. Thank you for the excellent poem.
