Elephants.

Elephants.

A Poem by R.A Butler.
"

Essentially, this is sentimental tripe. But it means a great deal to me.

"

ELEPHANTS.

In a week you'll return from Oxford Brookes,

With a head full of questions and a car full of books.

Oh my how you've changed” you'll say the same thing to me,

And we'll remember museums and daytime T.V.

And though your not mine as once you had been,

When we sat there fixated on the cinema screen.

Theirs a part of me that still recalls

The words that we both said,

When we where both so young in sin

Laying breathless on your bed.
